Position Summary:

The Division of Clinical Immunology and Rheumatology seeks a Statistician I to conduct statistical analysis with oversight from Program Manager and Principal Investigator(s).  This individual will apply statistical and technical skills in the design and performance of clinical research studies. This Statistician I will evaluate research studies for feasibility and recommend statistical procedures. This position will collect and perform statistical analyses for a broad spectrum of data and studies.

Performs programming to update system, services and reports on existing production databases.  This position performs statistical programming, reviews databases, handles quality assurance, provides program verification, and supports verification of statistical results. Statistician I will make recommendations regarding equipment and software needed for state of the art data collection and analyses.  

The Statistician I will take part in the development of scientific reports and publications, and will be a liaison between faculty, study personnel, and data entry personnel. The Statistician I may perform statistical analyses, including summarizing results and presenting to the research team and/or sponsor.  The Statistician I will attend all study meetings, assist with preparation of study reports, and perform other duties, as assigned.  Statistician I typical hours are 8 AM-5 PM.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Performs statistical analysis of study data. 
  • Reviews and assists with the designs, implementation, and maintenance of clinical-based relational database management systems.
  • Ensures operation and maintenance of departmental systems for data organization, collection, retrieval, and reporting purposes.
  • Recommends analysis and programming methods for collection and reporting of data, and monitors incoming and outgoing data to ensure data integrity.
  • Prepares ad hoc or recurring reports for publication or presentation on a periodic basis or as needed. Conducts literature reviews. 
  • Assesses and determines solutions for operational shortcomings of data procurement in protocol design.
  • Attends all study meetings and performs other duties, as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Salary Range: $50,050 - $81,330

 

Qualifications

 

Master's degree in Math or a related field and required. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement.

Preferred:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with statistical analysis software, such as SAS, R, SPSS and/or other analytical programs, excellent attention to detail, and enjoy interfacing investigators and clinicians. Functional expertise in clinical and scientific environments.
