Position Summary
The DRIVES and ARCHES studies examine associations between normal aging, Alzheimer's disease (AD), driving, and social determinants of health. This position entails assisting in developing and conducting research projects, including experimental design, data analysis, and documentation of experimental results.


Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs data analysis and/or data management for investigators using statistical packages including generation of tables and graphs.
  • Assists investigators in the design of experiments and epidemiological studies.
  • Assists in database design, implementation and maintenance of data collected over time for research purposes, including acquisition, editing and reporting.
  • May assist in design and development of data entry systems.
  • May function as a statistical consultant primarily in collaborative studies involving the medical school community.
  • Conducts literature searches related to study. Prepares and submits papers based on research work for journal publication or conference presentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. degree in statistics, biostatistics, computer science, engineering, psychology or related field.
  • Demonstrates ability to conduct statistical analyses including General Linear Models, Mixed Models, multiple linear regression, logistic regression, and survival analyses including Cox models.
  • Advanced proficiency in SAS, R, Python, and other statistical packages. 
  • Advanced skills in graphically representing data using statistical software programs.
  • Working knowledge of office technology including word processing, spreadsheets and electronic communications. 
  • Working knowledge and/or experience with REDCap.
  • The ideal candidate will possess computer programming experience, experience in a research environment, strong attention to detail, sound judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, strong ability to follow instructions, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work successfully with others.
  • Experience in scientific manuscript writing.


Required Qualifications

Equivalent of Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as, Math, Statistics, Computer Science or Epidemiology). Experience and proficiency with data analysis and data management utilizing statistical packages utilized by department.

Salary Range
$52,000.00 - $88,800.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
