Position Summary
The Bolton Lab is seeking a statistical analyst to advance research in cancer genomics. The focus of our group is on acquired pre-leukemic mutations in the blood, clonal hematopoiesis. Our group has led some of the largest and most comprehensive studies of how oncologic therapy shapes the evolution of clonal hematopoiesis and promotes its transformation to leukemia (Bolton, Nature Genetics 2020; Bolton, JCO 2020).
This position will include data management and data analysis of genomic and epidemiologic data using statistical packages. Work will include analysis of targeted sequencing data, SNP array and RNA-Seq data for comprehensive characterization of genomic events and correlation with clinical outcomes. Assistance in the design of experiments, clinical trial and epidemiological studies will also be required.


Job Description

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs data analysis and/or data management for investigators using statistical packages (including R), including generation of tables and graphs.
  • Assists investigators in the design of experiments, clinical trials and epidemiological studies.
  • Assists in database design, implementation and maintenance of data collected over time for research purposes, including acquisition, editing and reporting.
  • May assist in design and development of data entry systems.
  • May function as a statistical consultant primarily in collaborative studies involving the medical school community.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in statistics, computer science or a related field.
  • Experience in biomedical and/or clinical studies and analysis of genetic data.
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organization skills.


Required Qualifications

  • Equivalent of a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (such as, Math, Statistics, Computer Science or Epidemiology).
  • Experience and proficiency with data analysis and data management utilizing statistical packages utilized by department/s.

Salary Range
$49,000.00 - $83,800.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
