Position Summary
This individual works as part of the 4-H team in the Colorado State 4-H office. This position provides support for key programs, activities and events. This position also provides support and assistance directly to the State 4-H Specialists and other State 4-H Office staff as needed. Works collaboratively with team members and assists with organization and communication processes.
Position Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, communication, sciences, liberal arts, or related field
  • Three years of general office experience
  • Experience in helping to organize events and activities
  • Demonstrated computer skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively, verbal and written
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Must have a valid driver’s license or the ability to obtain a driver’s license or access to a licensed driver by the employment start date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years of experience providing support and assisting with event or program management
  • Knowledge of and experience working with basic regulations, guidelines, policies, other parameters, and objectives with proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple projects, prioritize work to maximize productivity, and respond effectively to change
  • Demonstrated experience in providing exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders

Essential Job Duties

Duty/Responsibility
  • Research prices, determine discounts, and prepare and submit paperwork for payment of vendors
  • Maintenance and reconciliation of the budgets
  • Track and collect fees and payments from counties and individuals for events and enrollments
  • Create and submit travel documents for State 4-H Specialists
  • Serve as back-up to 4-H Office Manager/Program Assistant in support of 4-H Director
  • Coordinate registration process, data management, and participant support and updates on event details
  • Complete and communicate event plans, including key deadlines and tasks related to the event
  • Work with location contacts on event set up, including room layout, AV needs, meals; arrange group transportation
