Stage Manager - College of Fine Arts (CFA) - School of Music

Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Music is searching for a part time Stage Manager to join their team on a fixed term basis, starting March 25, 2024 through April 26, 2024. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing support by working alongside the director to manage rehearsals as well as performances for School of Music’s Opera Excerpts production.


Your core responsibilities will include:

  • Scheduling and attending rehearsals
  • Attending production meetings
  • Communicating schedules to cast
  • Documenting and communicating directing decisions, changes or updates to the production team
  • Coordinating with props department
  • Ensuring the safety of participants
  • Overseeing actors and crew members during tech, dress and performances
  • Working with designers and calling the 2 performances.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1-3 years of experience
