We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Staffing Coordinator to join our team at MU Health Care. In this role, you will collaborate with staff, departments, and technology to optimize the use of a flexible workforce, ensuring continuous and adequate staffing for our healthcare units. Your primary responsibilities will include communicating with directors, clinical managers, house supervisors, and charge nurses to assess staffing needs, scheduling staff accordingly, maintaining employee records, and managing data related to scheduling and timekeeping systems. Your expertise in scheduling, timekeeping, and payroll, coupled with your exceptional organizational skills, will contribute to the smooth operation of our healthcare units.  


Location: Columbia, Missouri 
Shift:  PRN to help cover vacations, time off 
Department: Staffing Support Services 
Salary Range: PRN $20 per hour

Essential Functions: 

  • Collaborate with directors, clinical managers, house supervisors, and charge nurses to assess staffing needs and ensure adequate staffing levels based on departmental census and acuity requirements. 
  • Evaluate departmental needs and staff availability to develop and implement effective staff schedules. 
  • Maintain accurate employee records, including tracking mandatory training, staff health requirements, shifts worked, and occurrences. 
  • Coordinate departmental orientation, competencies, skills fairs, and other required training activities. 
  • Enter and maintain data in the scheduling system (e.g., Clarivia), including departmental needs, staff information, scheduling, and report generation. 
  • Manage time records for assigned staff to facilitate timely and accurate payroll processing and departmental chargebacks. 
  • Monitor and manage daily edits in the timekeeping system (e.g., Kronos) in a timely manner, providing assistance to other units as needed. 
  • Serve as a resource for departments regarding scheduling, Kronos, Clairvia, and time and attendance processes. 
  • Fulfill unit/department-specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents. 

 

Qualifications

 

Required Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities can be acquired.  

  • Two (2) years of clerical or healthcare experience. College or equivalent degree may be substituted for experience.  


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Scheduling, timekeeping, or payroll experience within a fast-paced environment is strongly preferred.  

  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
