Job Overview
Work directly with Ohio’s University Consortium for Child and Adult Services (OUCCAS) leadership and other stakeholders of the Ohio Child Welfare Training Program (OCWTP).
Essential Functions
- Acquire, develop and update modules used in training child welfare caseworkers and supervisors.
- Use performance data, skills gap analyses and individual training needs assessments to identify training needs of child welfare staff.
- Review professional literature to determine the empirical base in the competency areas to be trained.
- Collaborate with continuous quality improvement team to assess training effectiveness and otherwise participate in continuous quality improvement efforts.
- In conjunction with trainer development team, identify and assess qualified trainers and conduct trainings on content for selected trainers.
- Help coordinate pilot testing of newly developed modules.
- Lead various programmatic teams in partnership with Regional Training Centers, Ohio Department of Job and Family Services staff and OCWTP Steering Committee.
- Facilitate partnerships around statewide child welfare initiatives.
- Identify and work with subject matter experts for content development.
- Maintain currency in field of practice as well as learning science.
- Work with various elements of the learning management system used by ODJFS and OCWTP.
- Document work for status reports.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need.
Required Education
Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
Required Experience
- Five (5) years professional experience working with a Public Children Services Agency with at least two years as a supervisor.
- Knowledge of Ohio’s child welfare practice models, policies and procedures.
- Professional experience with Ohio resources related to child welfare casework.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong project management skills.
- Ability to fully integrate learning science and best-practice training methods (including workshops, simulations, online learning, and coaching) into training curricula.
- Experienced with office productivity software and learning management systems.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- MSW or equivalent degree.
- Recent child welfare casework practice experience.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
