**This is a Limited Appointment position for a duration of one year**

The Department of Radiology & Biomedical Imaging at UCSF combines clinical excellence, trailblazing research, and outstanding education in a leading academic health sciences institution. Our faculty includes some of the foremost names in radiology today. 

The Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging provides state-of-the-art clinical imaging for patients. In addition, it conducts world-class scientific research to develop the next generation of clinical imaging tools and techniques to battle osteoporosis and other medical conditions globally.

The Staff Research Associate position in the area of musculoskeletal imaging is available within the UCSF Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging. Performs image processing and data management for musculoskeletal imaging projects.

Department Description

The UCSF Department of Radiology Imaging IT team architects, implements, and manages the computer systems and networks needed to support more than 700,000 imaging studies annually. Our team manages the full stack from network to application and end user support. The team provide Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm support including evening and weekend call to support the Medical Center needs.


Required Qualifications

  • One year experience processing high-resolution computed tomography scan data
  • BA/BS in a related science and knowledge of, or experience with, the basic techniques or methods required by the position; and/or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in imaging science research
  • Ability to analyze imaging data
  • Ability to work with diverse team of researchers, scientists, and students
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to work independently, exercising judgment and initiative
  • Demonstrated record of reliability and excellent attendance
