We seek an experienced applicant for the Staff Research Associate 3 (SRA3) Step 1 role. Specifically, we are looking for someone with a research background in mouse models of Alzheimer's disease or a related field in neuroscience. We need the candidate to showcase their expertise by highlighting their relevant experience and qualifications. This position is ideal for individuals with advanced degrees looking to establish a research career without taking on the additional responsibility of leading projects. The selected candidate must conduct interdisciplinary laboratory work that expertly combines behavioral, immunology, and neuroscience knowledge and skills. They should possess the skills and expertise to work independently and troubleshoot, as well as make innovative contributions to laboratory and experimental procedures. The candidate is expected to conduct research projects closely with their academic supervisor while demonstrating a significant independent contribution beyond the technical level. These innovative contributions can change the course of an investigation, and this role requires someone prepared to take on this challenge with confidence. The selected candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of scientific procedures in mouse models of Alzheimer's disease. These procedures include tasks such as breeding and maintaining animal colonies, genotyping, administering anesthesia to animals, brain stereotaxic surgery, whole-body perfusion, and brain removal and microdissection. Additionally, the candidate will conduct day-to-day molecular biology procedures such as tissue homogenization, brain slicing, western blot, immunofluorescence, and confocal microscopy. Apart from this, the successful candidate will be required to perform tasks related to institutional document preparation, data analysis, management, and other research and administrative duties assigned by the supervisor. The job demands a diverse range of responsibilities that require exceptional attention to detail and scientific expertise. The candidate must excel in all of the procedures mentioned above and work autonomously while effectively collaborating with other research team members.
