Description

The Department of Medicine is seeking a dynamic and energetic Staff Research Associate II to join our research team which is focused on elucidating mechanisms contributing to autoimmune side of cancer immune therapies and their relation to anti-tumor efficacy of these treatments. The position requires a combination of basic science and clinical translational research skills. Daily activities will include immunology and molecular biology techniques including DNA, RNA, and protein isolation, flow cytometry, qRT-PCR and standard PCR, and immunohistochemistry. Our work includes in vivo mouse immune therapy experiments, which involves maintenance of a genetically engineered mouse colony, murine tissue dissection, tumor inoculation, and assessment of tumors and autoimmune phenotypes in mice. Hourly range: $28.04-$45.11



  • JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications

REQUIRED: * General knowledge of immunology and molecular biology. * Good work ethic, communication skills and ability to work well independently or as a part of a group. * Understanding of University procedures and policies for ordering and biohazard, radioactive and chemical waste disposal. * Working knowledge of the microscope and basic laboratory equipments (centrifuge, incubators, spectrophotometer, PCR, Q-PCR). * Skill in using MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. * Excellent skills in problem solving and data analysis, organization and presentation. * General knowledge of chemistry and meticulous preparation of reagents. PREFERRED: * BS in Molecular Biology, Molecular Genetics, Immunology, and Microbiology, or similar. * Experienced in working with mice and ARC certified to work with mice.
