Description

The Department of Surgery is seeking to hire a limited part-time Staff Research Associate I (SRA I) in a cutting-edge regenerative medicine research laboratory. In this role you will help manage the lab various research animal colonies, and will characterize protein expression in specific tissues, organs and modified stem cell lines by qRT-PCR and immunohistochemistry (IHC) in support of multiple research projects. Pay Range: $25.75 – $30.71 hourly

Qualifications

Required: Skill in routine molecular and cellular biology techniques.  Ability to communicate effectively on a one-to-one basis sufficiently to convey experimental results to principal investigators. Writing skills sufficient to compose laboratory protocols which are clear, concise, logical and display proper syntax and grammar. Interpersonal skill to interact and collaborate effectively with scientist coworkers, graduate students and faculty. Skill in handling and disposing of contaminated material according to protocol. Ability to organize raw data into relevant formats. Reading skills sufficient to understand specific protocol relevant journal articles, and equipment. Ability to perform library searches.  Preferred: Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent experience in chemistry, microbiology, biochemistry and molecular biology. Experience working with research animals.
