Job Description Summary: | The Student Health Center (SHC) at the George Washington University (GW) is a multidisciplinary, integrated, student healthcare service that provides confidential, student centered care in an accessible, safe, culturally sensitive, and supportive environment. The SHC seeks to promote healthy lifestyle choices and to holistically support the physical and emotional well-being of students in order to achieve academic success. The George Washington University (GWU) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Staff Psychologist to join our Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) team. As Staff Psychologist and under the direction of CAPS leadership, you will provide comprehensive mental health services to our student community, including individual and group counseling; crisis intervention; outreach; and consultation. With a commitment to evidence-based, culturally responsive interventions, you will develop and implement treatment plans that align with our Stepped Care model of service delivery and short-term counseling model, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, individualized care. In addition to clinical responsibilities, as a Staff Psychologist, this position will (1) provide clinical supervision to trainees/unlicensed staff as needed (2) lead a crisis/triage team, and (3) actively collaborate with campus colleagues and student organizations; fostering relationships and programming that enhance the overall well-being of our students. Minimum Qualifications: | Qualified candidates will hold a Doctorate degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of relevant experience. Licensed in Washington, D.C. or eligibility for Washington D.C. clinical licensure within six months of hire. |

Preferred Qualifications: | * Supervised internship or equivalent experience, to include clinical assessment, counseling and crisis intervention, with a diverse college-age population. * Experience providing clinical supervision, and interest in the training of student para-professionals and graduate students in the mental health disciplines. * Well-developed public speaking skills; interest and comfort in providing outreach and consultation to groups. * Knowledge and experience with multicultural theory and research, and the application of such research to college counseling center work. |
