Position Summary Information

Job Summary

The Staff Physician, under general direction, works with other medical faculty to deliver health care to students.

Required Education and Experience

M.D. or D.O. degree, internship, residency and/or specialty training.

Preferred Education and Experience

Board eligible or board certified in OB/GYN, Family Practice, Internal Medicine, or Medicine/Pediatrics. Private or group medical practice experience.

Required Licenses, Certifications, or Registrations

Prior to employment start date, must be licensed to practice medicine in the State of Texas. Prior to start date, must have unrestricted prescriptive authority in the State of Texas. Both license and prescriptive authority must remain current after employment start date.

Detailed Job Duties

Duties Performed

Responsible for providing primary health care to the students of Texas A&M University.

Duties Performed

To maintain legible medical records that are complete and uniform.

Duties Performed

To participate in AAAHC accreditation activities including Quality Improvement, charting and peer review.

To establish and review qualitative and quantitative performance for members of the clinical staff

Duties Performed

To follow relevant local, state and federal laws and judicial decisions applicable to the conduct of professional obligations.

To participate in continuing medical education and in-service activities as appropriate.

To contribute to an environment of collegiality and cooperative effort.

To execute the duties of the Chief of Medical Staff when so requested by the Director.

To support the policies and procedures of Student Health Services, the Division of Student Affairs, and Texas A&M University.
