Responsibilities
Prepares and dispenses drugs in inpatient surgical setting; reviews and verifies physician medication orders and patient medical record. Interacts with healthcare professionals and providers to help promote safe medication use, prevents inappropriate or misuse of medications; provides compounding and distribution of medications used peri- and intraoperatively; provides clinical pharmacy services (e.g., clinical protocols per pharmacy and pharmacist interventions); works closely with anesthesiologists to reconcile controlled substances for waste and resolve discrepancies.
Schedule: Varied 8-hour shifts; depending on department needs including weekends and holidays
