Job Summary
Where Creating the Best Hope for a Healthier Future Begins...
Provides assistance to medical doctors. Assesses, develops, and implements, and evaluates a plan of nursing care for patients in an assigned area.
Functions as a member of the collaborative interdisciplinary team providing comprehensive care to OB/GYN patients including phone triage. Aims to provide care that is safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient and equitable.
 
Additional Summary Specific to Job
1. Performs onsite and telephone triage within scope of practice to ensure appropriate level of patient care.
2. Communicates effectively escalating critical results and issues in an appropriate and timely manner.
3. Assist staff regarding clinical necessity for insurance authorizations.
4. Schedule surgery and procedures as necessary.
5. Chart in the EHR accurately.
6. Manages prescription refills within scope of practice.
7. Assists in the clinical setting as necessary.
8. Provides exceptional customer service.
9. Adheres to OSHA, CLIA and HIPAA guidelines.
10. Performs other duties as assigned.
 
Organizational Requirements
Staff Nurse I
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Current Registered Nurse Texas License required.
CPR certified.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school, or Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school, or diploma nurses.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
None
Staff Nurse II
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Current state of Texas Registered Nurse licensure. Uses typical office and clinic equipment.
CPR certified
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school with one year nursing experience; OR Associates degree in nursing from an accredited nursing school with three years nursing experience; OR Nursing Diploma (3 year program) and two years nursing experience
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Years of experience varies based on education level.
Staff Nurse III
CERTIFICATIONS/SKILLS:
Current nursing licensure in the State of Texas.
Advanced interpersonal ability necessary to routinely interact with high risk families.
High analytical ability to assess patient's needs and exercise professional judgment in the establishing of a nursing plan.
CPR certified.
MINIMUM EDUCATION:
Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited School of Nursing plus two year of nursing experience, OR,
Associates degree in nursing from an accredited School of Nursing plus four years of nursing experience, OR, Nursing diploma (three year program) plus three years of nursing experience.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) years of nursing experience with a BSN.
Three (3) years of nursing experience with a Nursing Diploma.
Four (4) years of nursing experience with an ADN.
 
Departmental Requirements/Preferences
1. Board Certified Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Texas with current license.
2. 3-5 years of OB/GYN experience preferred
