The Staff Coordinator with the University of Maine Cooperative Extension will work with the Assistant Director of Employee Engagement to coordinate and support recruitment, hiring and onboarding, design and develop training tools and programs and execute personnel actions for Extension staff. This position also serves as Extension’s Internship Program Coordinator which meets the needs of local high school students, current UMaine students and beyond. Typical hiring range for this position is $45,000 to $48,000  commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree 
  • Knowledge of how to develop job aides, web page content and training
  • Experience in event planning, coordination and promotion
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills both orally, in writing and via electronic methods
  • Experience with the Microsoft Suite of software 
  • Ability to establish and maintain an online file system, including confidential information 
  • Ability to learn and utilize appropriate search and hiring software (such as HireTouch, ORACLE)
  • Ability to travel both in-state and out of state, usually requiring a valid driver’s license

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of adult education theory 
  • Experience developing job aides and developing and delivering training 
  • Experience evaluating the effectiveness of training and procedures
  • Knowledge of Cooperative Extension structure and programs
  • Knowledge of UMS human resource policies 
  • Experience working with a diverse audience
