Job Summary

RIT's College of Engineering Technology is seeking a Staff Assistant, shared between the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering Technology (ECET) and Manufacturing and Mechanical Engineering Technology (MMET), to provide administrative assistance and support to stakeholders, including faculty, staff, and students. This position engages in communication with colleagues, coordinating tasks, and actively participating in events, projects, and activities needed by the departments.


Job Responsibilities

  • Provides administrative support to the Department and Program Chairs as well as the other administrative staff. Develops and maintains calendars and databases. Provides excellent customer service to all stakeholders, addressing inquiries and requests in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Supports the coordination and implementation of department participation in college level activities such as College and Careers, Open Houses, and similar events. Assists with hosting hospitality events to welcome new students/families, including coordinating department tours.
  • Supports student academic services such as preparation of academic forms for processing and curriculum processing. Generates academic reports, assessment data, and department records, ensuring that they are accurate and easily accessible.
  • Supports the student outcomes database used for assessment, contributes to the annual assessment process, and continuous improvement reports as required by the Institute and ABET accrediting agencies.Collects and process department Intended Learning Outcome (ILO) course success data and other student success measures for use in annual RIT Student Learning Outcome reporting.Handles data entry, tracking, and information management as required by the department.

Required Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • 2 years of professional experience
