SUMMARY

Performs a wide variety of administrative and support services for the Simulation Center to maximize efficient workflow.  Assists in the planning and support of program activities, along with the coordination of office operations.  Provides administrative support to the Simulation Center Medical Director.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provides reception and front desk coverage greeting all visitors.

Provides administrative support to the Simulation Center Medical Director, including calendar management, travel arrangements, copying/collating and similar.

Schedules students for educational and testing activities and posts materials/grades as assigned. 

Assists with maintaining Simulation Center activity and meeting calendar.

Supports the Simulation Center faculty and staff with analytical, computing, and clerical tasks including but not limited to data collection, information gathering, analysis, data entry/retrieval, data base maintenance, and forms and graphics generation utilizing a variety of software packages. 

Assists with official Simulation Center correspondence with students.

Assists in maintaining department accounts, monitoring expenditures, and ensuring compliance with budgets.

Assists in maintaining facility and equipment by calendaring warranties and corresponding with vendors.  Serves as liaison with Facilities and Housekeeping.

Assists with Purchasing and payroll tasks.

Screens calls and provides information in accordance with organizational policy.

Maintains essential records and assists in the maintenance of all activity files.

Prepares and/or compiles data for special reports and analysis, monthly reports, program evaluations, and other related reports within prescribed guidelines.

Keeps abreast of all federal, state, and Rowan University regulations, laws, and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified. 

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, Public or Business Administration, the Social Sciences or a related field, plus one (1) year of professional level experience in a business office, government agency, or university setting.  Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and ability to quickly learn new software required. 

Experience with diverse populations.  Record of respect and openness towards people whose social and cultural background is different from one’s own. Ability to recognize and manage one’s behaviors and communication to create an inclusive, equitable, and welcoming environment within the department/organization.

This is a Part-Time Regular position, working 20 hours a week.
