Sr. User Experience Specialist

IT@JH Enterprise Business Solutions (EBS) is seeking a Sr. User Experience Specialist who will provide relevant UX research and design activities for EBS and our related business partners.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Function as the UI functional expert.
  • Analyze usage and users of specific functions, recommend and implement UI solutions to maximize the end-user benefit.
  • Participate in user-centric design to achieve intuitive look and feel for contemporary UI.
  • Work with User Experience Architect and User Experience Developers within technical strategy, architecture, and roadmap for UI expansion.
  • Collaborate with customers, management, and team members focused on UI activities.
  • Communicate and present the designs and design ideas to stakeholders and team members as visualizations in a clear, well-documented form; prototypes, wireframes, etc.
  • Support the conception, testing and presentation of ideas that deliver the highest quality user interface in terms of innovation, simplicity and consistency.
  • Collect requirements for user interface research.
  • Assist in the execution of usability evaluation along with testing across UI development stages.
  • Collect/document and incorporate feedback to improve the UI/X experience.
  • Work with developers to ensure the designs are implemented as intended and the integrity of the user experience is maintained in the final product.
  • Work closely within project teams to achieve milestones and objectives.
  • Author and maintain documentation by writing audience-appropriate materials to serve as technical and/or end-user references.
  • Mentor other staff members in tools and technologies.

Specific Devices, Software, Projects

  • SAP UI/UX, non-SAP UI/UX as necessary.
  • SAP is used as the back-office ERP solution for both Johns Hopkins Health System and Johns Hopkins University. Over 65,000 employees utilize SAP’s Employee Self Service functions at Johns Hopkins. Approximately 15,000 employees utilize SAP for additional job responsibilities.

Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience implementing prototypes to evaluate and ensure technical feasibility of UI designs.
  • Focus on simplifying processes while delivering accurate results.
  • Should have maturity of understanding and able to connect end to end flows – from Front end to middle tier to back end.
  • High communication and customer management skills should be able to work with customers at various levels from executives to senior management to end users.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or relevant functional area.
  • Five years' experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP products.
  • Experience with SAP and SAP’s UI toolset including Fiori/SAP Screen Personas.
  • Experience with SAP’s BUILD prototype product.
  • UI/UX experience (2 years).

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience.
