Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Senior Surgical Technologist in addition to assisting in the preparation, processing, care, and maintenance of instruments, supplies, and equipment, and functions as a member of the surgical team during operative procedures, also functions in a specialty service and utilizes and troubleshoots service implementation and equipment and is a resource to the Surgical Technologist.

Must know the aseptic technique and be able to scrub independently in orthopaedic procedures anticipating the needs of the surgeon and have knowledge in the sequencing of the surgical procedures.


Required Qualifications

  • Two years experience as a Surgical Technologist
  • Two years ambulatory surgery experience
  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
  • This position requires flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Graduate of Surgical Technologist training program; or equivalent experience

License/Certification

  • Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
