Posting Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Supervisor for Learning Development, the Senior Student Programs Coordinator develops and implements research-based services for transfer students. Assists transfer students in their transition to Rutgers-Camden, develops a welcoming community, implements transfer student orientation programs, and provides academic support and resources. The incumbent is responsible for marketing and outreach of transfer programs and will support enrollment management in recruitment efforts as needed. Lastly, the Senior Student Programs Coordinator will support a caseload of students and design and implement an effective curriculum to foster student engagement and success during 1:1 and group meetings.
Under the supervision of the Assistant Director, Supervisor of Learning Development, the Senior Student Programs Coordinator serves as administrative support and is responsible for maintaining accurate records for grant reporting. The incumbent is the primary point of contact for transfer students with varying academic and personal needs. The Senior Student Programs Coordinator monitors degree completion progress, helps identify, prevent, and alleviate barriers to success, assists in strengthening academic skills, and ensures that academic goals are established and attained. The Senior Student Programs Coordinator will utilize various methods, including appreciative advising methodology, positive psychology, and other coaching models, to guide the implementation of successful strategies and initiatives to ensure success throughout students’ undergraduate careers. Effective collaboration amongst a network of campus units (Wellness Center, Center for Learning and Student Success, advising offices, Career Center, Financial Aid, Dean of Students, etc.) will be integral to the Senior Student Programs Coordinator responsibilities. The duties of this position will have an emphasis on knowledge and implementation of student success programming.
This is a grant funded position contingent upon the availability of funds to support it.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree (counseling, psychology, social work, or related area strongly preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience plus 2 years of relevant experience.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor’s Degree (counseling, psychology, social work, or related area strongly preferred) or equivalent combination of education and experience plus 2 years of relevant experience providing coaching, advising, and student support services, as well as planning and implementing structured programming for diverse groups of college students.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing student learning outcomes, data analysis, and reporting.
  • Ability and willingness to work collaboratively.
  • Working knowledge of student development theory, appreciative advising model, and other

student-centered approaches.
  • Ability to motivate students toward success and achievement of goals.
  • Ability to process/analyze complex information and effectively communicate it to students,

parents, and administrators.
  • Strong knowledge of student support programs and ability to make proper referrals based

on comprehensive assessments.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to follow through with assisting students.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to function in multi-campus and team environments.
  • Ability to use a personal computer and other office equipment.

To provide holistic student success support to undergraduate students, the Senior Student Programs Coordinator must demonstrate experience in and awareness of best practices in academic coaching, student success, advising, academic support, program design, evaluation, and retention. Experience with understanding and reporting on data analysis is integral in being able to help support the development and presentation of assessment efforts for the office.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree; Experience with teaching, instructional design, curriculum design in higher education, and LSW or related certification/licensing preferred. Experience managing student workers, volunteers, or leaders and using emerging technologies and social media to communicate with undergraduates preferred.
Equipment Utilized
MS Office, internet, computer competency in reading and evaluating spreadsheets, databases, student information systems, and other computer-based platforms including EAB and Qualtrics. Incumbent may use social media tools to communicate with students and other constituents.
