Sightline is a multi-year initiative that leverages a cross-disciplinary, inter-entity team and hundreds of stakeholders in selecting and implementing the next ERP software platform for the Johns Hopkins enterprise, enabling broader operational transformation and the reduction of administrative barriers to mission critical work.

Sightline’s scope includes changes in business processes, policies and other operating considerations that will make administrative actions -such as purchasing supplies and services, managing grant budgets, creating financial reports, and hiring and recruiting- simpler, streamlined, and more standardized throughout the enterprise.

The Sightline program will be focused on change management and communications as it relates to changes in technology, policy, and process redesign and will invest in enabling this change through a dedicated team that will work across the University and Health System.

We are seeking a Sr. Strategic Advisor to be an integral member of the Change Management Team. This position will report to the Executive Director of Change Management.

In collaboration with leadership, the successful candidate will support the planning, design and implementation of the Change Management component of the Sightline project, integrating the various Change Management workstreams and working collaboratively with Sightline’s functional teams including Human Resources, Payroll, Finance and Sponsored Research, in addition to other business operations/transformation work.

The Senior Associate will assure that Change Management deliverables and milestones are on-time and within budget, adhere to high quality standards, and meet the needs of Sightline’s stakeholders. This role will be responsible for coordinating project plans, team and work assignments, guiding, and monitoring work efforts on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, performing quality review, and escalating functional, quality and timeline issues appropriately.

Candidates will have experience presenting to executives, end-users (faculty, students, and staff), and subject-matter experts. Candidates must possess excellent negotiation, facilitation, consensus-building, and diplomacy skills and will exhibit a strong customer service orientation. This individual will serve as a knowledgeable liaison between the project’s diverse communities- functional, technical, and change management oriented.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

Strategy/Leadership

  • Collaborate with and frequently lead, other functional and technical experts, architects and subject matter experts, to contribute to the success of the Sightline Project’s Change Management portfolio.
  • Engage key Change Management stakeholders to ensure project is trending towards success.
  • Work independently and frequently oversee work of others.
  • Provide project oversight for adherence to institutional standards and guidelines for project management, continuous service improvement, and customer service.
  • Develop improvement processes for operational use by the Change Management team to ensure successful completion of key milestones that support the success of the project overall.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of change management.
  • Maintains Sightline effectiveness and efficiency by helping to define, deliver, and support strategic plans for Change Management implementation.
  • Build and maintain relationships through positive interactions.

Project Management

  • Develop comprehensive project plans that merge customer requirements with Change Management goals and coordinate resources during all project phases, from initial deployment plans through implementation.
  • Communicate proactively with all resources to provide encouragement, identify problems, create solutions, and implement efficiency improvements.
  • Coordinate resources, both internal and external, to ensure project success.
  • Manage project execution to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope.
  • Establish project timeline with appropriate stakeholders. Manage project to achieve approved timeline.
  • Integrates multiple cross functional processes and disciplines to meet business and technical requirements by bringing perspective from all architecture domains (process, system, application information, data, and security).

Planning and Innovation

  • Create an organized plan that achieves the goals and objectives of the project and aligns with the overall change management strategy for the project.
  • Work with the key stakeholders within the Change Management team and Sightline’s functional teams to set timelines and expectations for project milestones.
  • Work with the project executive, Executive Director of Change Management, leadership on the Sightline team, and other leaders across the University and Health System to determine the scope of work and available resources.
  • Develop innovative processes and solutions to resolve project barriers.

Analysis and Documentation

  • Produce high-quality documentation that meets Johns Hopkins standards and is appropriate for its intended audience.
  • Develop and maintain a Sightline Change Management documentation portal for all change management workstreams (Teams or SharePoint) that can integrate into the broader project’s document management system.
  • Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Perform detailed analysis of core implementation tasks using data driven decisions.
  • Develop measurable metrics to ensure the project continues to stay on task and on time.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant discipline.
  • Five (5) years of related work experience demonstrating increasing responsibility.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A Master’s Degree in Business, Public Policy, or a related field.
  • Ten (10) years of progressively responsible related work experience with at least five-seven (5-7) years leading and managing large portfolios in a higher education, healthcare or other complex setting.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Demonstrated experience with change management portfolios/projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with technology/ERP transformation.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and interpersonal skills.
