We are seeking a Sr. Research Program Coordinator II  who will work with the Principal Investigators to coordinate all arms of a school-based randomized controlled trial testing the effects of the Chicago Parent Program, a universal group-based parenting intervention, delivered to parents of PreK students on a range of parent, child, and school outcomes associated with children's wellbeing and later academic success. The Senior Research Program Coordinator II will be responsible for primary oversight of the day-to-day operations of this school-based clinical trial.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Partner with study PIs and collaborators in the planning and implementation of the project.
  • Participate in scientific discussions with PIs and the research team.
  • Facilitate communication among the members of the research team.
  • Assist with additional projects and duties as assigned.
  • Complete all appropriate compliance trainings.


Participant Recruitment & Data Collection

  • Participate in the process of recruiting project schools through a combination of in-person and virtual meetings.
  • Participate in the recruitment and retention of individuals implementing the intervention in schools.
  • Track school and participant recruitment and retention targets.
  • Develop plans to address recruitment and retention challenges in collaboration with research coordinators in the field and the PIs.
  • Set up and manage the administration of participant incentives.


Research Protocol Implementation & Maintenance

  • Prepare and update study protocols and reports for Institutional Review Board.
  • Prepare materials for clinical trials reporting.
  • Lead development, ongoing maintenance and implementation of project standard operating procedures and work plans.
  • Help develop and closely monitor REDCap databases and other data collection tools that will be used during data collection and for data storage and management.
  • Provide training and support to research coordinators and research assistants in using project data collection systems.
  • Oversee intervention implementation in intervention schools and ensure accurate and complete collection of program implementation data (e.g., participant attendance).


Data Synthesis & Analysis

  • Participate in planning, analysis and interpretation of data.
  • Synthesize and edit research findings and technical data.
  • Participate in the development and submission of scientific manuscripts, presentations, and technical reports to the funder.
  • Prepare data on project implementation and outcomes for presentation at professional meetings.
  • Assist research team in developing plans for disseminating project results.


Administrative

  • Monitor project budgets and allocation of project resources.
  • Plan agendas and coordinate all project meetings.
  • Review, edit, distribute minutes from project meetings.
  • Assure project management tasks are completed (e.g., prioritize, timeliness, milestones, monitoring, status).
  • Prepare regular project updates for meetings.
  • Work in coordination with research team to ensure accuracy, proper organization and advanced preparation of reports to the funder.
  • Assist with grant writing under guidance of the PIs as appropriate
  • Purchase project materials and process travel for research team members as appropriate.


Supervision

  • Interviews, hires, and trains project staff with guidance from PIs as appropriate.
  • Supervises project staff and oversees data collection procedures at multiple sites.
  • Identifies project staff who are behind in project activities and helps when needed.


Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Ability to manage tasks at multiple sites and requests from multiple stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task and function independently.
  • Strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Access to vehicle to be able to travel to schools as needed.
  • Knowledge/proficiency with database design and management (e.g., developing databases in Microsoft Excel, REDCap) is desirable.
  • Knowledge/proficiency with JHU-specific software (e.g., SAP, Concur) is desirable.
  • Some knowledge of statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, STATA) is desirable.
  • Knowledge of clinical trial requirements and reporting is desirable.


Specific Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, or sit for an extended period of time.
  • Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
  • Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s), or arm(s), for example, using a keyboard.


Supervisory Responsibility

  • One Research Program Coordinator, Several Part-time research assistants.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline.
  • Five years related experience.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience, to the extent permitted by the JHU equivalency formula.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in related discipline (e.g., Psychology, Social Work, Public Health, Education).
  • Some research experience in a related discipline such as Psychology or Public Health.
  • Some related research experience in child, adolescent, and/or young adult populations.
  • Related experience in data collection, data management, and/or data analysis.
  • Experience with multisite research projects.
  • Experience working in school settings.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish

Starting Salary Range: $47,500 - $83,300 Annually ($65,400 targeted; Commensurate with experience) 
Employee group: Full Time
