Job Summary | This position is considered Category IIA: Not required on campus and has the ability to telework remotely for the duration of the University of Utah’s response to COVID-19. An employee hired into this role will be responsible for providing space, telephone, printing, networking and/or internet capabilities at the telecommute location and agree to the terms of the University of Utah campus and Health Academics COVID-19 Telecommuting Agreement. Performs various writing and editing functions including preparation of protocol and procedural documents, technical reports, presentations, manuscripts, and grants. Responsible for quality control (QC) assessment of collected data. Also responsible for gathering and analyzing data for special projects. Serves as a project manager/coordinator for multiple ongoing projects. |
Responsibilities | Compiles data from a variety of sources and assembles into MS Office summaries, spreadsheets, and reports. Maintains files and records of research data. Completes quality control (QC) of collected laboratory data for database entry and summary reporting. Assists in writing and editing of manuscripts, grants, project reports, and other materials. Maintains standard operating procedure (SOP) documentation. Minimum Qualifications | Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalency; plus four years related research experience, and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills also required. A Master’s degree in a related field is preferred. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description. |
Preferences | PhD in biology or related field preferred 5 or more years of experience as a Research Analyst (or comparable job) preferred. |
