The Sr. Program Coordinator provides general oversight of the day-to-day academic operations of the Departments of Classics, Geography, International Studies, Political Science and Religious Studies. Assists the Chairs and Program Directors in the development, organization, production and evaluation of the programs in order to achieve the program missions, goals and objectives.  Is familiar with university, college and program policies and procedures, ensuring program compliance.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responds to telephone, email and internet submissions for programs and provides additional assistance as needed. 
  • Provides support for graduate student recruitment and admissions. Maintains and organizes application materials for admission committee review.
  • Inform students of application progress and decisions.
  • Provides assistance and support for students in all administrative aspects of the program including the receipt and processing of applications for admissions, scheduling interviews, registering students, and maintaining applicant and student databases.
  • Coordinate and schedule thesis/dissertation defenses.
  • Assists the Chairs and Program Director with the development and implementation of student recruitment initiatives including the annual proposal of a marketing and advertising strategy.
  • Coordinate the preparation of Department/Programs course schedules and enrollment management. Work with the Chairs and Program Directors and affiliated faculty to develop class schedules and faculty teaching assignments. Online input and updating of class schedule and maintain course schedule master list.
  • Work with Chairs and Program Directors to maintain and update course inventory and program curricula.
  • Assists the Sr. MBO with the departments’ operations; ensures effective and efficient workflow and adherence to quality standards.
  • Analyzes and evaluates administrative support procedures, systems, and methods; makes recommendations as appropriate.
  • Completes special assignments which require collecting, organizing, and analyzing data and producing reports which may be the basis of significant decisions.
  • Exercises discretion and independent judgment in daily activities.
  • Responsible for creating and sustaining a collaborative work environment where personnel are treated respectfully, ethically, and professionally at all times; responsible for building positive and productive relationships with colleagues at all levels and departments across campus.
  • Performance, at the highest professional level, of all other duties as may be assigned by the Sr. MBO.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma
  • Three years of experience. Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
