The department of Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Sr. Manager, Building Facilities to work at UHealth. The Sr. Manager, Building Facilities manages complex functions of building operations and maintenance of the assigned facilities. Further, the Sr. Manager, Building Facilities ensures facility procedures comply with local, state, and federal regulations.

The Sr. Manager, Building Facilities is a professional position, responsible for the overall well-being and operation of each facility in his on her zone. This position is responsible for managing the team of lead personnel, workers, contractors, and other service personnel required to maintain facilities and equipment in good working order. In addition to normal and ongoing facilities maintenance responsibilities, this manager has overall responsibility for all corrective actions and measures to be taken to restore full service in case of unforeseen damages and disruptions to the facilities in his or her area.

  • Makes frequent and ongoing visits to all departments within his or her zone to stay appraised of facilities conditions or problems; and to obtain feedback regarding customer satisfaction with facilities and physical plant services.

  • Administers and maintains the Facilities Maintenance Program (FMP), and all preventive maintenance procedures throughout his/her area of responsibility; to keep in a “tip-top” condition.

  • This position will plan and schedule maintenance personnel and materials in an effective and efficient manner. It also controls and schedules all weekend work, planned time off, and monitor all un-planned time off for his/her zone.

  • Directs and supervises the daily maintenance activities by effective delegation. Directs and monitors the daily work of all carpenters and painters working in the campus or outside the campus.

  • Ensure maintenance of safe work environment and assures that all subordinate personnel follow work safety policies and procedures.

  • The position ensures adherence to annual budgets for labor, materials and outside services.

  • Composes performance evaluations; issues counseling forms/disciplinary actions; addresses employee complains; recommends appropriate hiring, termination, and promotion of subordinate staff.

  • Supervises and directs the required activities of outside service vendors and contractors; develop, maintains and reviews service contracts as assigned.

  • Administers the continual updates to the University’s “Facilities Condition report” (FCR) by continuously assessing facility’s conditions.

  • Ensures that time keeping documents are filled out properly for each employee and turned in to the TMA clerk in timely manner.

  • Keeps track of the KRONOS time reporting records and is responsible to approve the payroll time recording on the scheduled day and time of personnel assigned to the position.

Minimum Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with major work and/or degree in facilities construction management, architecture, engineering, or technical management.


  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience
