Job Summary 

The Sr IT Desktop Engineer takes lead on Tier 3 level on-site technology support for administrative offices in high-level or sensitive positions; utilizes in-person or remote access for end-user computers, peripherals, new technologies, and configurations for Windows and Macintosh platforms; plans, advises, and coordinates equipment installations in the administration and/or academic offices supported; oversees inventory of software and equipment; maintain computer and system security; understands operation of computer networks and relationships among systems; identifies user needs and independently researches procedures for accomplishing tasks, addressing both immediate and long-term technology processes, and documents findings; remains informed and practiced in operating system and hardware requirements and evaluates new technologies, and provides insight into such technologies as they become accepted for use; and coordinates closely with supervisor and communicates regularly with administrative staff regarding services and suggestions for implementing them.

Essential Functions 

  • Act as the active IT liaison with advanced level end-users and the IT Department.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of system operations and interrelationship among networks and systems.
  • Install, test, and debug software applications for image creation and deployment.
  • Take lead on 3 support to users of high-level administrative and managerial capacity and users of advanced, sensitive, and / or mission-critical level technology services.
  • Design and implement technical solutions.
  • Research and test potential project solutions.
  • Prepare project related meeting materials and presentations.
  • Attend project related meetings and provide qualified insight and ideas.
  • Identify and mitigate project issues and risks.

Required Qualifications 

  • Minimum of a Bachelors Degree or Equivalent   
  • Minimum of Five to seven years of experience.

Physical Requirements 

  • Typically sitting at a desk/table.
  • Typically standing, walking.
  • Lifting demands<50lbs.

  • Hybrid/Flexible Work Arrangement – Philadelphia, PA 

Additional Information 

This position is classified as Exempt, grade L. Compensation for this grade ranges from $ 62,630.00 to $93,950.00 per year. Please note that the offered rate for this position typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade, but it can vary based on the successful candidate’s qualifications and experience, department budget, and an internal equity review.
