Senior Consultant - Microsoft and Cloud
Primary Role Description
As a senior consultant, you will report to the senior director of collaborative technology partnerships and assist with cloud governance, adoption, and engineering in an advisory role. You will work with various stakeholders to design, implement, and optimize cloud solutions that leverage the Microsoft ecosystem, including Azure, Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, and other Microsoft products and services. You will also provide guidance and best practices on cloud security, scalability, performance, and cost-efficiency.

Essential Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business units, IT teams, and external partners to understand the requirements, challenges, and opportunities for cloud adoption and transformation using the Microsoft ecosystem.
  •  Design and develop cloud architectures and solutions that are secure, scalable, reliable, and cost-effective using the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Provide technical leadership and oversight for cloud projects and initiatives, ensuring alignment with the cloud strategy and standards
  • Evaluate and recommend Microsoft technologies, tools, and services that suit the business needs and objectives
  • Conduct cloud assessments, audits, and reviews to identify gaps, risks, and areas for improvement using the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Develop and maintain cloud policies, guidelines, and best practices to ensure compliance, governance, and quality using the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Troubleshoot and resolve cloud-related issues and incidents using the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Mentor and coach junior cloud architects and engineers using the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Stay updated with the latest trends and developments in cloud computing and the Microsoft ecosystem

Licensure/Certification

  • Azure Certified Solutions Architect - Expert or equivalent
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate or equivalent
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert or equivalent
  • Other relevant Microsoft certifications are desirable
  • Bachelors preferred 


Experience Preferred

  • At least 10 years of experience in IT, with 5 years of experience in cloud architecture, engineering, or consulting
  • Academic Medical Center or Healthcare experience
  • Proven track record of designing and delivering successful cloud solutions using the Microsoft ecosystem for large-scale, complex, and diverse organizations
  • Hands-on experience with Azure and other Microsoft products and services, such as Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, Power Platform, etc. 
  • Proficient in cloud-native technologies, such as containers, microservices, serverless, etc. using the Microsoft ecosystem Familiar with cloud security frameworks, standards, and best practices, such as NIST, ISO, CSA, etc. using the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

The following Certifications/Experience are Preferred

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate or equivalent
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure AI Engineer Associate or equivalent
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, and automation tools, such as Azure DevOps,
  • GitHub, etc. using the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Experience with cloud migration, modernization, and optimization projects using the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Experience with hybrid and multi-cloud architectures and solutions using the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Experience with cloud data and analytics platforms and services, such as Azure
  • Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, etc. using the Microsoft ecosystem
  • Experience with cloud artificial intelligence and machine learning platforms and services, such as Azure Machine Learning, Azure Cognitive Services, etc. using the Microsoft ecosystem
