Scope of Position
The OSU Health Plan (OSUHP) is responsible for all Ohio State medical and pharmacy benefits, the development, execution, and evaluation of clinical programs that provide quality and cost-effective care to health plan members, for ensuring that all members understand their benefits, the programs available to them, and for assisting members to resolve all issues related to their care and/or claims. The Resource Planning Analyst conducts in-depth identification, analysis, and presentation of OSUHP healthcare data for university and medical center leadership as well as external providers, utilizing medical/pharmacy claims, lab, enrollment, program and other data reports for development and evaluation of value-based healthcare initiatives.
Position Summary
Conducts in-depth identification, analysis, and presentation of OSUHP healthcare data for university and medical center leadership as well as external providers. Utilizes medical/pharmacy claims, lab, enrollment, program and other data reports for development and evaluation of value-based healthcare initiatives. Based on the analysis of the data, provides recommendations to support prospective business decisions and delivers information, knowledge, and decision-making analyses to support solution-oriented analytics to help OSUHP and providers contain their healthcare costs while providing the best quality care for their members. Develops lines of communication to discuss/review results of analysis to management via reports/presentations and assists management in implementing programs that provide solutions. Investigates, reviews, recommends, and communicates learnings/needed changes discovered through a systematic review of current programs and implements changes to reports. Collaborates internally with IT, provider relations, medical management and other areas as well as within the analytic area to achieve organizational goals.
Minimum Education Required
Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications
Bachelors degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience required; Masters Degree in Health Administration or related field preferred.
Considerable experience (minimum 3 years) working with health plan administration and/or systems required.
Analytical and business tools experience, including working with information medical claims, pharmacy claims, laboratory results, health assessment data and enrollment/demographic data.
Experience working with OSU medical plans and associated business rules highly desired.
