The Senior Business Systems Analyst provides technical expertise in clinical research operations and informatics to support integrate and enhance information technology applications integral to the clinical research mission of OSU COM.  Applications include but are not limited to an enterprise-level clinical trials management system (CTMS) enterprise-level regulatory ebinder platform and electronic data capture system and electronic medical record integrations researches and performs advanced business analysis by consulting with research leadership clinical trial offices and study teams to gather information determine protocol requirements and translating into customized data and reporting system specifications leads highly complex project – i.e. analysis design testing and implementation of current and new functionality upgrades patches or changes to functionality fosters relationship with OSU-CCC and CCRM to collaborate on clinical research initiatives and projects across the enterprise performs regular quality assurance checks and seeks feedback from customers on the functionality of the information technology applications integral to the clinical research mission of OSU COM develops strategic plan for CTMS environment based on strategic organizational objectives of The College of Medicine/Office of Health Sciences (COM/OHS) and the needs of the CCRM and the CTMS user community establishes and oversees policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Independently manages the OnCore training program including the development of new practices that align with the most up to date industry standards.  Provides subject matter mentoring on all business application activities acts as a resource for direction training and guidance for less experienced staff actively participates in the recruitment and selection for the COM OnCore Team and CCRM OnCore dedicated staff.  Serves as a senior member of the OnCore Advisory Group Ensure applications meet appropriate regulatory requirements (ie 21CRF11).  Responsible for ensuring the privacy and security of sensitive information within the scope and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations within the next year will be responsible for performance management activities productivity standards and recruitment/selection for COM Clinical Research Informatics Team.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's degree with a major in computer & information science or related field or equivalent experience.


Required Qualifications

4 years of relevant information technology experience to include experience within a clinical trials/clinical research environment to gather and understand technical and end-user requirement.  Requires successful completion of a background check.  Selected candidate may be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Additional Desired Experience

Experience with developing workflow and user documentation preferred. Knowledge and experience with a clinical trials management system and electronic health record desired.
