CORE JOB SUMMARY                                                                                                                                   

The Senior Benefits Analyst supports effective benefits decisions by providing senior analytical support to include researching, analyzing, evaluating, and administering benefit plans and programs for the University. The position provides accurate, timely, and pertinent information and recommendations regarding benefits programs. This role ensures benefits offerings are correctly positioned from a competitive, cost, and compliance standpoint.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS                                                                                                          

Administers benefit plans such as 403(b) and 457(b) plans, traditional pension plans, and all health, and welfare plans. Provides customer support for benefit programs through direct employee contact, and interfacing with external vendors and internal resources related to benefits. Researches and resolves benefit-related issues and recommends solutions or alternate methods to ensure effective benefit operations. Identifies opportunities for operational improvements and works with various multi-functional project teams to implement identified changes. Prepares reporting related to benefit plans, including 5500s, Summary Annual Reports, and support of the annual audit process. Researches and analyzes benefits programs, including cost, utilization, and alternatives, and makes recommendations for improvements in value cost proposition, accounting for competitive positioning, vendor qualification, and ROI. Assists with the review and design of benefit plans to determine optimal value for Team Members and the company. Analyzes benefits competitiveness compared with various benchmarks. Assists with open enrollment by providing employee guidance and facilitating employee education sessions, webinars, and Q&A forums. Respond to ongoing and ad hoc management information reporting needs in support of Benefits; ensure availability and accuracy of needed information while obtaining through the most efficient means. Collaborates with Finance and Payroll teams to ensure accurate deductions, contributions, and payroll processing related to benefit elections. Supports the development, documentation, and ongoing modification of benefit budgets through analysis and direct contact with customers, external benefit vendors and consultants. Assists with developing benefit communication materials in coordination with internal and external resources to support the promotion of benefits value. Research benefits legal and regulatory compliance issues and recommends optional action plans to ensure plan compliance. Performs ad hoc project work as directed. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field

Minimum 4 years of relevant experience
