Join Our Team: Sr. Associate Dean for Student Success

Are you passionate about transforming the student experience? The University of Miami is seeking a dynamic individual to lead our new student success unit, dedicated to empowering nearly 13,000 students across nine schools and colleges on two vibrant campuses. Reporting to the Office of the Provost, As the Sr. Associate Dean for Student Success, you'll spearhead innovative initiatives, foster collaboration, and champion excellence in student support.

As the Sr. Associate Dean for Student Success, you will:

Cultivate Collaboration: Build a cohesive student success network, collaborating with key stakeholders across the institution.

Lead Innovation: Develop and implement cutting-edge student success initiatives and programs.

Ensure Consistency: Standardize tools, data reporting, and procedures to provide consistent, proactive support to all students.

Drive Results: Establish goals and key performance indicators to enhance student achievement, engagement, retention, and graduation.

Continuous Improvement: Evaluate retention and graduation efforts to enhance the student experience continually.

Operational Excellence: Oversee the student success unit's operations and monitor performance effectively.

Data-Informed Decision Making: Provide leadership in utilizing data to drive proactive decision-making and improve student outcomes.

Stay Informed: Research and disseminate student success best practices and university policies/legislation.

Barrier Removal: Identify and address internal policies that hinder student success in collaboration with campus partners.

Action-Oriented: Monitor and take appropriate action concerning programs, processes, and resources impacting students.

Data Systems Leadership: Collaborate in building and maintaining robust systems for student success data analysis and intervention planning.

Evidence-Based Practice: Demonstrate a commitment to evidence-based strategies and adaptability to changing landscapes.

Technological Innovation: Lead and participate in the selection and design of technological solutions to enhance student support.

Team Leadership: Supervise and develop the student success team to ensure effectiveness and professional growth.

Fiscal Responsibility: Manage the budget and resources of the student success unit efficiently.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree (terminal degree preferred)
  • Demonstrated leadership in student success
  • Proficiency in data analysis and strategic initiative development
  • Knowledge of best practices in student success
  • Strong communication and consensus-building skills
  • Experience with diverse populations and inclusive excellence
  • Effective budget management abilities
