Job Description

This position serves as the SPRC Instructional Design Coordinator in charge of technical design and development of content for webinars, communities of practice, online courses, and related products for the Suicide Prevention Resource Center (SPRC) at the University of Oklahoma. This position will design and develop learning resources using the latest learning theory and strategies appropriate to learner needs and project goals.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Conduct needs analysis of performance goals, target audience, training needs, and technology options
  • Evaluate existing training content/materials and research new content/materials
  • Managing training development processes, contracts, and communications
  • Collaborating with partners on marking strategy and cross-promotion,
  • Work with subject matter experts to design and develop online learning programs
  • Create design documents, content outlines, storyboards, multimedia scripts, and other supporting documents
  • Provide instructional design support to subject matter experts in the development of trainings, online courses, resources, and products

 

 

Job Requirements

Required Education:  Bachelor Degree OR equivalent combination of education/job related experience, AND  

  • 18-36 months of project management, technical writing, instructional design or adult learning 

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Ability to design learning tools that contribute to a comprehensive learning system
  • Knowledge and ability to integrate instructional technologies, including online course development
  • Thorough understanding of adult learning theory
  • Ability to lead and engage subject matter experts
  • Detail oriented for accuracy of data and information
  • Highly organized and able to handle multiple projects and deadlines
  • Ability to track details and maintain effective planning design methods to support successful grant implementation
  • Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications

Departmental Preferences:

  • Master's Degree in Public Health, English,  Adult Education, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field
  • Experience in instructional design, workforce development, or course development for a behavioral health or public health project
