We want you in the Division of Student Affairs as our Sports Programs Coordinator!

Day to day will look like…
· Working with Campus Recreation staff and students to manage the development, coordination, and administration of sport programs, consisting of intramural sports and sport clubs.
· Hire, train, schedule & supervise up to 100 sport programs student employees.
· Design and facilitate training sessions focusing on risk management, customer service, facility stewardship, leadership and intramurals sports & sport club specific knowledge.
· Serve as the advisor to the Sport Club Executive Board. Serve as risk management liaison for sport clubs.
· Assist in fiscal oversight of a budget over $250,000, as well as assist with fiscal management of all Campus Rec budget units.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 2 or more years of experience, which may be substituted by equivalent combination of certification, training, education, and/or experience.
May graduates will be considered if they will be able to obtain their degree by the date of employment.
This position requires a variable work schedule that will reflect the job responsibilities and needs of the department throughout the school year. Evening & weekend hours will be required as needed to perform job duties and responsibilities. In addition, this position has been designated as essential personnel during inclement/hazardous weather and other emergencies. Must possess a current American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification or acquire within 30 days of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree in an appropriate field. Relevant experience working in intramural or club sports is preferred.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Experience in student and staff supervision and programming administration, as well as conflict resolution, ability to officiate a wide variety of sports and ability to conduct official’s trainings.

Manage the development, coordination, and administration of sport programs, consisting of intramural sports and sport clubs, to provide innovative recreational opportunities by collaborating with key campus offices, based on current trends, which meets the needs of the USC community. Additionally, this position will be accountable for contributing to a positive, friendly work environment that encourages, enhances and demonstrates collaboration, teamwork, professionalism and equity among staff, students and patrons on a daily basis.

Assist in fiscal oversight of a budget over $250,000, as well as assist with fiscal management of all Campus Rec budget units. Use appropriate university financial policies and tools to ensure that revenue and expenses are at an optimal level. Determine equipment needs and work with Student Affairs Central Finance to ensure the purchase of equipment based on needs.

Make decision and recommendations based on assessments administered to both participants and staff, regarding policy and program offerings.
