The Sponsored Programs Administrator supports the College of Arts and Sciences, College of Nursing, and Heider College of Business to ensure completion of all matters related to identifying internal and external grant and foundation opportunities, preparation of grant and other funding proposals (including necessary data collection), grant submission (use of InfoEd system), and all tasks related to grants administration once awards are received. This includes, but is not limited to, PARS, award reconciliations, advising/approving/monitoring expenses, and preparation of journal entries. This position will also collaborate with the relevant partners with regards to the approval and hiring process for positions funded by awards, equipment asset tags, and submission of Employee Action Forms. The individual will collaboratively partner with CCAS, CON, HCOB faculty, Sponsored Programs Administration, and Grants Accounting to ensure compliance with reporting, policies, and guidance outlined by the awarding agencies and University policies.

This position will work Monday to Friday; normal business hours (depending upon department needs position may require evening, weekend, and holiday work.  


Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree required in business administration, public administration, or health care administration; Master's preferred; 
6+ years of research administration experience, or closely related experience;
CRA, CFRA, or CPRA certifications preferred;

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Understanding of the Uniform Guidance and experience interpreting federal and non-federal regulations and guidelines is
Expected;
Knowledge and experience in business administration, public administration, or health care administration environment;
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel; PowerPoint and Outlook;
Financial management experience;
Knowledge in the research process including regulatory compliance;
Effective communication skills, both oral and written, to elicit and communicate information, to analyze complex issues and to prepare /present clear, informative, and concise materials;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with staff, faculty, deans and external sponsors;
Ability to function effectively as a team member, while exercising independent and critical judgement;
Ability to prioritize work with multiple and conflicting demands in a deadline-oriented environment;
Ability to lead and train faculty, staff and students;
Ability to work beyond normal business hours at times depending upon department needs

Licenses and Certifications:
Certified Research Administrator (CRA) or Certified Pre-Award Research Administrator (CPRA) encouraged.
