Summary of Duties

Sponsored Program Coordinator – Office of Sponsored Programs, Office of Research
The Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), under the auspices of the Office of Research, supports the development, implementation, and coordination of sponsored research at the University from proposal development to project closeout. OSP provides a full range of research administration services to support Ohio State faculty, staff, and graduate students through research administration, responsible stewardship of funds and sound management practices.

Position Overview
Sponsored Programs is seeking to hire a Sponsored Program Coordinator (SP Coordinator) to support the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP). This position provides grants and contracts administrative support as part of the Office of Grants and Contracts (OGC).

The individual in this role will perform the following grants and contracts administrative job duties: Assists the OGC leadership and Sponsored Program Officers (SPOs) with paperless proposal and award files and new award review processes. Independently performs data entry and management activities in the Grants module systems. Assists with proposal review, including budgets. Initiates post-submission proposal process (PA-005 transfers). Monitors financial status of research projects and provides reports, as required. Creates and processes sub-award agreements. Monitors and initiates project close-out process.

In addition, the SP Coordinator serves as a backup to SPOs during staff leaves or high-volume processing, as needed. Works to build knowledge base in research administration and stays current on agency regulations, requirements and policies. Provides high-quality customer service to the OSP research constituents and the university’s research community. Assists and participates in staff training and Principal Investigator (PI) trainings.

Required Qualifications

Required Education and Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least one year of customer service in an administrative capacity.
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Desired Qualifications

Desired Qualifications:
• At least one year business, and/or administrative experience in a professional capacity, including data entry and/or information management;
• At least one year of experience with and knowledge of any of the following: Federal or private agency sponsors, contract/grant regulations, University policy, procurement, budgeting, accounting and financial management;
• Experience with electronic research administration tools and systems; demonstrated experience developing budgets and/or analyzing financial data;
• Knowledge of research funds administration or business administration practices.

Target Salary $18.50 - $19.24 Hourly
