POSITION INFORMATION: Provides administrative leadership and manages the COBRE grant by coordinating the program activities, attending meetings, preparing reports, recruiting for the program, analyzing data, prioritizing tasks, preparing grants, distributing information, and performing accounting duties for the program.   

 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES: 


  • Coordination.  Coordinates various aspects of the program such as meetings, sponsorship, recruitment, services, etc. 

  • Meeting Attendance.  Attends meetings and acts as the facilitator. 

  • Report Preparation.  Prepares numerous reports on status of program, resources needed, future goals, etc. 

  • Recruitment.  Recruits members for committees, programs, volunteer activities, etc.

  • Analysis.  Performs analyses to determine needed services, funds, volunteers, etc.

  • Prioritization.  Prioritizes program duties from needs assessment data or other resources.  Makes adjustments in the course of the program in order to meet program goals. 

  • Grant Preparation.  Assists in the preparation of grants and ensures accuracy.  Collaborate with the Office of Research Administration, Principal Investigators, and other personnel. 

  • Information Distribution.  Distributes information to program staff, and others.  Answers questions about the program, the progress, etc.

  • Accounting.   Prepares the program budget.  Reconciles accounts, purchases with ProCard, enters and approves vouchers, etc.  Responsible for appropriating funds for salaries, and other program expenses. 

  • Personnel Supervision.  Supervises support personnel including other exempt employees that may include Program or Project Coordinators.  Selects, trains, delegates tasks, conducts performance appraisals, etc.

  • As Needed.  Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.

    Job Requirements

    Education: Bachelor’s Degree in field where vacancy exists; may include Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, or other Healthcare field.

     

    Experience:  48 months experience coordinating a large program or project.

     

    Equivalent/ Substitution:  Will accept 48 months experience in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree.

     

    Skills: 

    • Knowledge of general accounting. 
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
    • Experience coordinating a large program or project.

     

    Preferences:

    • Management/supervisory experience.
    • Experience working with grants and contracts. 
    • Experience using scientific editing skills.
