The Andrew Young School of Policy Studies (AYSPS) is at the forefront of impactful research, addressing critical public policy issues that shape decision making in legislatures, school districts, governments, and non-profits. The school’s esteemed Public Finance Research Cluster, home to the Center for State and Local Finance (CSLF), Fiscal Research Center (FRC), and International Center for Public Policy (ICePP), is seeking an early-to-mid career, graduate-level professional to join the team as a (2) Research Associate II.

 WHAT WILL YOU DO IN THIS POSITION?

The ideal candidate for this position will be intellectually curious and have 1) experience in applied public finance research, 2) a demonstrated ability to manage and analyze data, and 3) excellent written and oral presentation skills.

  • State and local public finance research: Assist senior researchers in conducting high-quality reports, evaluations, and reviews of state and local tax policy, budgeting, economic development, and other significant economic or fiscal policy issues, producing exceptional written outputs.
  • Data analysis and reporting: Create, clean, and manage datasets using tools such as SAS, STATA, SPSS, or similar software, demonstrating accuracy and adaptability. Proficiency with visualization software such as Tableau is highly desirable.
  • Content development and management: Create content derived from PFRC research, strategically disseminating it through the organization's digital platforms, and collaborating with the communications team to maximize impact and reach.
  • Administrative assistance: Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability to undertake additional tasks, such as facilitating the organization of meetings, workshops, and training sessions, as needed.
