Job Description

Responsible for assisting the Speech & Language Pathologist to provide therapy to students in individual, small group and classroom setting using speech/vocalizations, manual signs/gestures and aided communication devices 

Responsible for assisting Speech and Language Pathologists in creating and maintaining students’ communication aids, teaching materials for therapy sessions and classroom use
Responsible for tracking student progress through weekly data collection
Responsible for mastering the use of  adaptive technology used in creating communication aids for students such as computer software, iPad applications
Responsible for training staff  in the use of adaptive technology
Responsible for attending  meetings with Speech & Language Pathologists to discuss treatment programs and report on each student’s progress
Responsible for attending weekly in-service trainings and team meetings as requested
Responsible for maintaining and organizing therapy areas and supplies
Supports the mission of the Boston College Campus School

Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree and licensure as a speech -language pathology assistant. One year of experience working with students with severe, multiple disabilities, particularly students who are non- speaking, preferred.
