Michigan Medicine Speech-Language Pathology is seeking a contingent Pediatric Speech-Language Pathologist for coverage 07/01/24-06/30/25

Location: Children & Women's Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assessment and treatment of children with speech, language, feeding/swallowing delayed or disorder development.
  • Education of families regarding communication and feeding/swallowing development and methods of improving function.
  • Examines, tests, diagnoses and administers remedial treatments for patients with speech disorders.
  • Evaluates patients regarding the application of a wide variety of therapeutic techniques for rehabilitation of speech, language and oral motor disorders.
  • Records speech samples and conducts phonetic analyses of speech ability.
  • Documents test results and recommends remedial treatment.
  • Performs evaluations with special attention to receptive and expressive language skills, speech fluency, vocal and oral motor competence, articulation and
    auditory skills.
  • Confers with associates and institutes treatment utilizing corrective exercises and special equipment.
  • Maintains active and supportive communication with the patient regarding progress, problems, home programs and other issues related to the therapeutic process. Typically analyze, compare and evaluate various courses of action and have the authority to make independent decisions on matters of significance, free from immediate direction, within the scope of their responsibilities.
  • Participate in staff meetings regarding individual patients with physicians, nurses, insurance representative and allied health professionals.

Required Qualifications*
  • M.A. or M.S. In Speech-Language Pathology
  • State of Michigan licensure required
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) is required
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to work effectively with medical and allied health professionals within an interdisciplinary team

Additional Information

M-F Days; 40 hours week


Background Screening
