SPEECH LANGUAGE PATHOLOGIST DUTIES AND RESPON SIBILITIES

CLINICAL SERVICE (100%)

Indepe ndently maintains a clinical caseload in designated clinical area </span >

Provides evidence based evaluation and trea tment to diverse, medically challenging patient populations

Provides quality service delivery techniques that facilitate optimum services to meet patient needs being sensitive to pat ient’s age, social, cultural, educational and vocational background</spa n>

Completes required documentation accuratel y and within the designated time frame which may include report writing, billing, and/ or professional education database

Works collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team aswell as with Department colleagues to promote best care of the patient< /span>

Participates in the peer review proces s

Participates in performance improvem entinitiatives within assigned work area under the supervision of Clinic alCoordinator

Takes initiative to rema in current in clinical practice through lectures, literature, and other educational opportunities

Organizes da ily schedule to prioritize responsibilities including the integration of meetings, responsibilities, or tasks into schedule without negative impa ct on patient care or productivity

Mai ntains confidentiality pertaining topatient care and all Departmental p olicies and procedures

Keeps ClinicalC oordinator informed of activities, problems, and/or accomplishments</spa n>

Functions in a self-directed manner and takes ownership to manage self and work including responsibility for actin tains professional demeanor and is responsible for quality care in allon s and accountability for results

Maiin teractions

Responds promptly to commun ication (e.g., e-mail, pages and phone messages)

Uses technology (e.g., computer skills) to meet job requireme nts

Maintains productivity standards</ span>

Completes clinical privileges consisten t with job responsibilities and personal development plan

Meets all PEP expectations and follows all Department policies and procedures< /span>

Meets and adheres to ASHA, state licen sure board and Department clinical practice guidelines

Required Qualificati ons 

Education:Graduate of an accredite d program in Speech Language Pathology with a Master’s degree

and/or Certification :Current NC licensure to practice Speech Language Patholog y & current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech / Language Pathology

Minimum Qualifications
Education

Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university program.


Experience

Previous medical setting experience preferred, although other relevant clinical experience considered.

-- Certificateof Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology issued by ASHA -- NC License in Speech Language Pathology issued by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists -- Temporary License in Speech Language Pathology issued by the North Carolina Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists
