Specialist, Worklife Programs

We are seeking a Specialist, Worklife Programs (the “specialist”) is responsible for administering benefit programs related to supporting employees through all phases of their family life at Johns Hopkins, primarily childcare. The specialist will provide internal program operations, manage vendor relationships, establish and adhere to best practices, and sustain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the day-to-day contact and be responsible for internal program operations of WorkLife program participants to ensure satisfaction and troubleshoot; and vendors to ensure their compliance with contractual commitments and organizational satisfaction.
  • Develop institutional relationships; collaborate and liaise extensively with a variety of individuals on different matters central to program operations, program communications, program promotion, billing, and budgeting, and more.
  • Support data collection, reporting, analysis, and program evaluation along with vendor partners to ensure that programs are effectively managed and meet budget and billing deadlines.
  • Project manage implementation of new/expanded partnerships and projects through the benefits office to enhance the well-being of eligible participants. Anticipate needs, respond to questions as they arise, and support senior leadership during decision-making.
  • Quality Assurance Management for program issues. Escalate and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders as needed to ensure resolution.
  • Propose new and improved procedures and/or initiatives, and support creation programs and projects that meets the needs of employees.
  • Other duties, as assigned including back up contact and support for other benefit offerings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Two years related experience required. Experience should include overseeing vendors and/or with administering community programs, HR operations, family programs, childcare or school settings required.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with Microsoft suite including using Excel to maintain and track data on program usage and impact. Comfort with technology to the extent it is possible to maximize use of additional JHU data and tracking programs.

Special Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Utilization data analysis and reporting.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including training and presentation skills is required.
  • Ability to travel to other JHU and local Baltimore vendor locations in own vehicle or using public transportation.

JHU Equivalency Formula: 30 undergraduate degree credits (semester hours) or 18 graduate degree credits may substitute for one year of experience. Additional related experience may substitute for required education on the same basis. The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing.
