Position Announcement

Utah Valley University is seeking a part-time Starbucks/Campus Store Specialist! Working under the direction of the Manager of Starbucks, the Barista serves UVU students, staff, and faculty by creating beverages according to the recipes from Starbucks Corp as well as the customers.


Summary of Responsibilities

  • Serves as a representative of both the UVU Bookstore and Starbucks Corporation, providing the best beverage experience possible. 
  • Ensures that beverages are made to Starbucks standards and recipes, and according to the customer's request.
  • Processes cash, credit card payments or phone pay and gives accurate change, as necessary.
  • Adheres to strict for product date tagging, rotating, and cleaning of work area.
  • Appropriately displays and sells bottled beverages, sandwiches, and snacks. Restocks and cleans work area. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications

Graduation from a standard high school or the equivalent plus three months of experience related to the Summary of Duties.
Preferred Qualifications:    

  • Cashiering experience.
  • Barista experience

Licenses or Certifications:   
  • Food Handler's Permit required.


Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of effective customer service techniques.
  • Skills in making Starbucks beverages.
  • Ability to repeatedly lift merchandise.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to communicate with the public effectively.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written procedures and instructions.
