The Information Technology Specialist is a new professional position responsible for supporting technologies and related services for Student Affairs at Auburn University. The Specialist will be a member of the Student Affairs Technology team and report to the Information Technology Manager. Student Affairs Technology supports student-facing departments as well as multi-million dollar revenue-generating business units. This position will provide attention to business-critical systems, develop needs assessments, and implement technical solutions based on knowledge of systems analysis. Position will be required to resolve complex problems and improve business processes through technology. The work of an IT Specialist will also range from generalist work to in-depth support for a more narrowly defined field. |
Essential Functions | - Provide system, application, and functional support for existing enterprise solutions in-use by Student Affairs. After hours work may be required for maintaining availability of student-facing systems. - Coordinate student information system needs and solutions between functional users in Student Affairs and developers in the central Office of Information Technology. - Liaison between Student Affairs and third-party vendors with support contracts on enterprise software and hardware in use by University Housing, Campus Dining, Campus Recreation, etc. - Develop and implement new business solutions incorporating Auburn University’s Mobile Credential (Apple Wallet / Google Pay). - Under the direction of Student Affairs Technology leadership, represent Student Affairs Technology on implementation teams for new enterprise-scale solutions for various departments in Student Affairs. |
