What we want

The Special Projects Coordinator will conduct strategic outreach to businesses to establish and grow partnerships and, under general supervision, coordinate the planning, development and implementation of the Undergraduate Law Minor Program and Executive Education Program.

What you need to know

Salary: $45,000, commensurate to selected hire’s experience.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Two years of experience related to community outreach, program coordination, or student affairs in an academic setting.

 
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Verbal and written communication skills.  

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Critical thinking, effective reasoning, and reflective thinking skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school

Essential Duties/Tasks 

  • Program Development  - Collaborates with the Assistant Dean of Graduate Programs to:  Establish short and long-term goals and strategic planning for the Business Development Program. Attends association meetings to raise awareness of the School of Law. Assists in identifying funding opportunities. Collaborate with companies in the community to create pathways for them upskill their employees at the School of Law. Determine the feasibility of the school of law offering undergraduate programs. Interview school leaders and the community to determine subject matters areas that would align most closely with the needs of the undergraduate population and the strengths of the School of Law. Research the appropriate rate of tuition, modality, and audience for such programs. Assist the School of Law leadership in seeking approval with the law faculty, University, and THECB should we determine to build such programs. Create the Executive Education Program. Assists in establishing short and long-term goals and strategic planning for the program. Collaborates with key stakeholders to identify subject matter, find subject matter experts to develop the content and teach the sessions. Assists in identifying funding opportunities.

  • Data Analysis - Develops and oversees programs, track responses from the business community and potential students, provide essential periodic reports to enable senior leadership to make and implement programs Manipulates, analyzes, and interprets current, historical, and comparative data to produce reports, inform decisions, and guide actions.

  • Administrative - Assists in formulating and implementing policies and procedures within area(s) of responsibility. Administers post-event surveys to measure level of effectiveness. May provide verbal and/or written activity updates during staff meetings. Performs data entry. Ensures compliance with federal, state, institutional, and accrediting agency policies and procedures.

  • Professional Development - Serves on committees, work groups, and task forces as assigned. Actively engages in the activities of relevant professional organizations. Engages in continued education to improve skill set and stay abreast of industry standards. Ensures programs comply with federal, state, accrediting agency, and university laws, standards, policies, and procedures. Develops and cultivates meaningful relationships with education institutions, corporate partners, and other constituents to promote the School of Law and increase program enrollment.
