Posting Summary
Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Special Projects Coordinator for the Office of Clinical and Health Affairs within Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences.
Under direction of the Vice Chancellor and Associate Program Manager for Population Health, the Special Projects Coordinator will participate in the development, preparation, execution, monitoring, and oversight of a broad range of population health and community engagement activities.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Coordinator for the Rutgers Health Service Corps, which provides students service experiences in public and population health across all Rutgers campuses
  • Serves as liaison to community-based organizations and partners internal and external to Rutgers.  Maintains a detailed schedule of all current projects under way, coordinates staff assignments and necessary follow-up and monitors deadlines
  • Serves as Project Coordinator for all population health projects within campus and community settings.
  • Provides administrative support in the planning, development, and implementation of Office programs.
  • Under direction, plans and executes special one-time and recurring projects for the Office. 
  • Performs studies and prepares reports for the Office. Researches and compiles data, performs analyses and submits conclusions and recommendations.
  • Acts as backup and collaborates as business liaison and vice a versa on necessary projects.
  • Develops or assists in developing data collection and information systems to advise supervisor on matters of cost effectiveness and operational efficiency of functions.
  • Represents the Office at interdepartmental, institutional and community organization meetings involving Office programs and initiatives, as assigned.
  • Tracks and analyzes process and outcomes measures for projects.
  • Assists supervisors with operating and financial analysis and investigates discrepancies.
  • Additional responsibilities will include managing logistics, updating a project management database, and scheduling project meetings, when necessary.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications


Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree is required, plus three (3) years of project coordinator experience.
  • Equivalent education, experience and/or training may be substituted for the degree requirements.
Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Must be dependable, flexible, and people oriented.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills and a highly professional demeanor in person and on the telephone.
  • Must be computer literate with proficiency and working knowledge of database and reporting tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to navigate the Internet.
