Position Summary
The primary professional responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting and supervising research, seeking external funding, providing department, college, university and professional service, and academic advising.

This position is effective August 19, 2024. Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience. Required Qualifications
  • Doctoral degree in special education; ABD will be considered if it is clear the terminal degree will be conferred prior to the date of hire;
  • Minimum of three academic years of PK-12 U.S. experience teaching students with disabilities;
  • Demonstrate, or the potential to demonstrate, a record of high-quality teaching, research, and service commensurate with rank;
  • Evidence of effective communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility;
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Evidence of postsecondary teaching effectiveness;
  • Experience with online instruction and other modalities;
  • Expertise in one or more of the following areas:
    • serving children and youth with high-incidence disabilities, or intellectual and/or developmental disabilities;
    • evidenced-based instruction in literacy and math for students with disabilities;
    • academic instructional methods, and/or;
    • Council for Exceptional Children’s initial preparation standards and high-leverage practices.
