Location: Columbia, Missouri 


Shift:  Monday-Friday 8-4:30  


Department:  MUPC Therapy 


Salary Range:  $16.68 per hour to $26.31 per hour (Pay based on experience)

Essential Functions: 

  • Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team members by participating in morning rounds and providing a daily summary of student observations.  
  • Communicate effectively with the student’s school, by requesting Individualized Education Plans, homework, discipline reports, transcripts, behavior plans, and aftercare as needed.  
  • Demonstrate a repertoire of behavior management skills to assist patient participation in educational activities.  
  • Demonstrate interpersonal communication skills that are respectful and collaborative.  
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate individual student educational plans and needs through communication with the student.  
  • May complete unit/department specific duties and expectations as outlined in department documents.

    Qualifications

     

    Required Qualifications: 

  • Special Education Teaching Certificate by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) board.  

  • One (1) year of special education teaching experience.

    Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Master's Degree 

  • Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
