Job Description

The Program Manager provides project and program support to the TEES Spark! PK-12 Engineering Education Outreach office under the Texas A&M Engineering Workforce Development. Reporting to the Director of PK-12 Engineering Education, this position manages, prioritizes and performs administrative activities, including identifying, planning, developing, and implementing program events targeting PK-12 underserved students, families, and teachers in both formal and informal settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage, identify, prioritize, plan, and implement program events targeting PK-12 underserved students, families, and teachers that center around advanced manufacturing sectors.
  • Identify and establish opportunities to reach Career and Technical Education (CTE) teachers and programs.
  • Establish, maintain, and grow PK-12 regional ecosystems while serving as a liaison with teachers, students, and their families to understand and communicate manufacturing technology opportunities and career pathways.
  • Compile program statistics to address TEES strategic metrics as it relates to PK-12 outreach.
  • Keeps with current trends in advanced manufacturing education and creates original activities and strategies that support our projects for the PK-12 community (students, teachers, and families).
  • Builds a professional development model to support teachers in manufacturing education program of study.
  • Must be able to travel on occasion (both day and overnight trips).
  • Performs related duties as required.

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Five years of related experience.

Preferred Experience:

  • Related experience in formal and informal education in grades PK-12.
  • Experience with advanced technologies in manufacturing such as 3D modeling, printing and CNC.
  • Experience in leading professional development for PK-12 educators in-person and remotely.
  • Experience budgeting, maintaining, and reporting state and federal funding.
  • Experience teaching underrepresented populations and/or in underserved regions.
  • Experience driving large passenger vehicles and/or pull a trailer.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems.

Preferred Licenses, Certificates, and Registrations:

  • State of Texas Educator Certification

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Fluent in the Spanish language.
  • Able to work independently and remotely, when needed.
  • Working knowledge of standard office equipment and personal computers.
  • Strong knowledge of spreadsheet, presentation and word processing for reporting.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills and abilities to plan and organize effectively.
  • Confidence to lead discussions and presentations for small and large audiences of varying stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperative with others.
  • Proficient with using MS Office Suite including using Outlook as a tool for tracking/managing multiple calendars.
