The Sooner Discovery program is a four-week residential programs for rising high school juniors and seniors to earn college credit, discover OU, and engage in exciting activities on the Norman campus and across Oklahoma.
Discovery Guides will serve as peer advisors, mentors, and facilitators for all the components of these programs. The focus of the program is on preparing students for success academically and personally in their college journey.
- Employment will begin for a few select dates in April and May, but primarily Summer (June 5th – July 8th).
- University housing and a meal plan are included with this position. Housing is required.
- After your online application is completed and reviewed, interviews will be conducted. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted with a time to sign-up for an interview between March 27-31.

Required Education: Must be enrolled in the Spring term as a student at the University of Oklahoma. Hiring contingent upon verification of current student status.
Must attach Spring 2024 class schedule
Skills:
- Discovery Guides must either be a rising Sophomore, Junior or Senior standing to apply and work for Sooner Discovery. Each Discovery Guide will be subject to background checks and Student Misconduct check per the Sooner Discovery Minors on Campus Policy. Guides will not be hired until completed.
- Discovery Guides should have a desire to work with a diverse group of high school and college students in a team environment.
- Applicants must be able to develop authentic relationships with students in high school (age 15-18). It is important that Discovery Guides are mature, prompt and work well on teams.
- It is desired for Discovery Guides to be organized, familiar with campus resources, enjoy planning programs, and like administrative details.
- Applicants should be in good academic standing with the University of Oklahoma.
